January 30, 2007 - Herkimer County Community College is sponsoring a Wear Red Day fundraiser this Friday, February 2 to benefit the American Heart Association. All employees and students are encouraged to wear red and donate $5 to the American Heart Association to help raise women’s awareness of cardiovascular disease and empower women to reduce their risk. Visitors to the HCCC campus this Friday are also welcome to participate. Donations can be made in the Student Activities Office in the McLaughlin College Center (room 220), or in the Assistant to the President’s Office in the Classroom-Administration building (room 234 A). more...

January 19, 2007 - Herkimer County Community College men’s soccer coach Pepe Aragon received the Lew Andreas Award, presented by the Blind Men and Criers, an organization of referees, coaches, spectators and fans, at its annual dinner meeting held earlier this month. Named for former Syracuse University football and basketball coach Lewis Andreas, the award is given annually to an individual for outstanding contributions and service to the community. more...

January 9, 2007 - The Herkimer County Community College baseball team is ranked seventh in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III pre-season poll, recently announced by the NJCAA Baseball Coaches Association. The Generals won their first Region III championship last year and went on to compete in the Division III NJCAA College World Series. Herkimer finished the 2006 season with an overall record of 34-7. more...
