Program Summary

This program prepares students for careers in the fashion buying and fashion merchandising fields. Graduates may be prepared for a variety of positions including retailing, advertising, public relations, fashion merchandising, retail and wholesale sales, retail management, buying, and other positions within the retail industry.

Skill Requirements

People who work in the fashion industry have a special energy, creativity, pace and enjoy challenges. Generally speaking, you must be energetic, flexible, personable and professional. You should also have excellent communication skills and be able to handle constant changes, including a willingness to work a flexible schedule. A pleasant personality and good manners are also important. Prior experience in the retail industry is helpful but not required.
