Program Summary
The Human Resource Management program is designed for our students interested in positions as entry-level human resource managers in such areas as employee benefits, recruiting, job analysis, compensation, employee welfare, coordination and training. While not designed as a transfer program, graduates can go on to four-year institutions such as SUC at Oswego, SUNY Institute at Utica/Rome, and many other colleges and universities. Graduates will be prepared to write and perform evaluations, collect job and skill information, write job descriptions, determine employee compensation and benefits, and construct a base pay structure.

The Human Resource Management field demands a range of personal qualities and skills. Human Resource specialists and managers must speak and write effectively, work with or supervise people, have various cultural backgrounds, and demonstrate integrity and fair mindedness.

Job Outlook
Market analysis suggests that people are leaving employment to start their own businesses. The Human Resource Management courses and the degree can assist these new business owners in dealing with all types of staffing and employment issues. Also, people are interested in starting their own Human Resource Management consulting business--both our online and on-campus courses could provide them with the specialized education and skills needed to do this. |
