This course will examine the computer forensic analysis process and related criminal investigation methods ranging from searching, recovering, imaging, analysis and preservation of evidence on a variety of storage media. The course contents will be supplemented with hands-on exercises, case studies and projects. Advanced topics such as disk geometry and analysis of non-Windows based systems will be covered. CJ 261 is a prerequisite for this course with a grade of B- or higher or permission of the instructor. Note: Offered spring semesters only.
