Introduction to Robotics

This course provides students with an understanding of computer robotic systems. The hardware and software concepts essential for the construction and operation of robot systems will be emphasized. Among the topics to be discussed are the mechanical and physical elements of robotic systems, the sensors utilized by robotic systems to interact with items in the physical world, the role of software in the design and operation of robotic systems, the basic software concepts of sequence, selection and repetition, and modern software engineering practices. Students will apply the concepts of the course in various laboratory based assignments.
