Individuals participate in occupation (activities such as play, self-care, and work) from birth to death. This course is an introduction to the meaning and characteristics of human occupation throughout the life span. The meaning and relationship of occupation to the development of self-efficacy and wellness is explored. The physical, psychological, spiritual, and psychosocial components of occupational performance are introduced as well as activity adaptation. This course is designed for the student pursuing a career in human services.
