This course is designed to familiarize the student with the origins, history, theoretical explanations, and structure of organized crime, including the areas of racketeering, drug trafficking, gambling, loan sharking, money laundering, etc. The focus will be upon historical organized crime groups in the United States as well as emerging internationally based organized criminal groups.
