On-Campus Housing Update

Bookmark and Share

June 29, 2010

On-campus housing is full at this time and we are no longer accepting new contracts for the Fall 2010 semester. We have a waiting list with over 100 students already on it, and will fill any spaces created by cancellations with people from this waiting list. No additional names will be added to the waiting list, and no new contracts will be accepted for Fall 2010.

If students are beginning to look for housing at this time, they should look at the off-campus housing listings (http://www.herkimer.edu/housing/off).

Why Is There A Waiting List?
- Housing contracts are taken from accepted students on a first come, first serve basis. Students who were accepted and applied for housing in December or January are going to be placed higher on the list than a student who waited until June to apply for housing. As stated in your acceptance packet, it is the student’s responsibility to secure housing.

What Do I Do If I Applied For On-Campus Housing?
- If you applied for on-campus housing, you will receive a notice from the housing office regarding room assignments or notification of wait list.  This letter will be coming out after June 30, 2010.

What Should I Do If I Have Not Secured Housing Yet?
- If students are beginning to look for housing at this time, they should inquire about off-campus housing (http://www.herkimer.edu/housing/off).
