Foundation Scholarships

AARP (American Association of Retired Persons)

Annual $400 award to a freshman student who graduated from a Herkimer County high school, resides in Herkimer County, and is planning a career in a field which benefits senior citizens.

Alumni Association of HCCC

$250 each awarded annually to a freshman, and a transferring senior. Based on academic performance, contributions to the College, and financial need.

Lou Ambers Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship to reward academic performance, minimum GPA 3.0, awards made to freshmen and seniors.

American Legion of Herkimer County

Awarded to a student who's actions demonstrate a belief in the aims of the American Legion.

Bee & Pliny Applegate Memorial Scholarship (Ilion High)

Annual award to a deserving Ilion High School graduate. Awarded at the Ilion High graduation ceremony and selected by Ilion High.

Awards granted to Accounting/Finance students.

Association of Town & Village Superintendents Highways of Herkimer County, NY Scholarship

$250 award to incoming freshman or freshman students who graduated from a Herkimer Co. high school enrolled in General Studies, Science, Accounting, Business Administration, or Human Resources Management. Must demonstrate academic excellence and financial need. Preference to Town, Village, & County highway supers and employees immediate family members.

Temple Beth Joseph Scholarship Award

An annual $50 award to a student who has demonstrated local community and college service.

Bull Family Merit Scholarship

Annual awards to students enrolled in the college’s Business programs demonstrating scholastic excellence. Preference given to graduates of Herkimer County high schools, high school graduates from adjoining counties considered.

Randall D. Button Memorial Scholarship

$100 awarded to a Herkimer County resident, 1st preference given to incoming Small Business Management Certificate majors, 2nd Business Administration 2-yr degree program.

Frank A. Cancelino Memorial Scholarship

$100 award to an incoming freshman/graduating senior from Herkimer or Frankfort high schools. Minimum 3.0 gpa or B average.

Silvio Campagna Memorial Scholarship

A $450 award to a student in good academic standing.

Campus Safety Scholarship

Award given to a criminal justice student.

Dana Lynn Castronovo Memorial Scholarship

Two awards, one each to a freshman and graduating senior, to Travel & Tourism majors. Based on academic excellence, extra-curricular service and a dedicated effort to do well.

Jack Christensen Academic Prize

$100 awarded to a graduating senior. Must either be a union member or the son, daughter, or spouse of a union member. Based on academic excellence.

Cogar Foundation Scholarships

Awards granted to freshman students who graduated from a Herkimer or Oneida county high school and are a permanent resident of Herkimer or Oneida counties.

Officer Joseph D. Corr

A $500 award to a graduating Criminal Justice major who plans to pursue a career in law enforcement. Recipients must demonstrate leadership potential through service to the community and participation in campus/community events. Preference given to individuals interested in Baseball.

Cosentino Scholarships

Annual awards at $750 each, awarded to full-time students attending HCCC from the Mount Markham Central School District. Awards are made based on academic performance and financial need.

Cristman Scholarships

Five awards of $600 each to full-time freshmen students for use in their second year of study at HCCC.

D'Arcangelo & Co., CPA's Accounting Scholarship

Awarded to a freshman accounting major for use in the following academic year.

Joseph P. DeLorenzo Scholarship

An annual award of $250 to a current, or graduating student, who demonstrates leadership potential, humanitarian interests, and academic achievement (min. 3.0 gpa).

Alpha Chi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarship

Annual award rewarding academic excellence to a graduating female student transferring to a four year program, majoring in education.

Dee Dee Deneski-Wolf Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a first year, female student enrolled in the Business curriculum. Minimum 3.5 gpa. Caring and determined individual.

Senator James H. Donovan Memorial Fund Scholarship

Awarded to an incoming or second semester freshman student based on academic promise and community involvement. Donovan Scholars must reside in Herkimer, Lewis, or Oneida county.

Dr. Ormond Drake Scholarship

An annual award of $500 to a student enrolled in the Radio-Television Broadcasting curriculum who exhibits dedication to the broadcasting field.

Albert J. and Rita E. Eichholzer Scholarship Fund for Radio/Television Broadcasting

Awarded to a Radio/Television Broadcasting major. Emphasis on academics and financial need.

Faculty-Student Association Scholarships

$200 awards to freshman students active in campus and/or community organizations.

First Source Federal Credit Union Scholarship

$500 award to an incoming freshman intending to major in a business field. Must have attended one of twenty-five member high schools. Preference to a First Source member or immediate family members.

Futures in Science Scholarship

$100 annual award to a Science major. Emphasis on student activities/participation.

Kathleen Gallagher Memorial Scholarships

$100 annual award to graduating senior in Travel & Tourism. Based on academic achievement and financial need.

Patty Gallagher Memorial Scholarship

$150 awarded based on financial need. A minimum 3.0 gpa required.

Patrick A. George Memorial Scholarship

$200 to a full-time, second semester freshman in the Physical Education curriculum. Academic achievement (2.5 min GPA) and financial need are considered.

Herkimer County Bar Association Scholarships

Two $100 awards to students enrolled in the Criminal Justice (1) and Paralegal (1) programs. Preference given to graduates of Herkimer County high schools.

HCC Apartments Scholarships

$200 to the graduating senior student who has resided at the HCC Apartments for both years of study and attained the top grade point average of all residents, $100 to the second highest resident.

HCC Foundation Child Care Grants

$250 awards to full or part-time students who are single parents who utilize the College's Child Care Center. Recipient must have financial need and cannot receive childcare funding from another source.

William Hennessey Memorial Scholarship

$500 annual award to an incoming freshman, freshman, or senior who graduated from Ilion, Mohawk, Herkimer, Frankfort, or Little Falls high schools. Academic excellence and financial need considered.

HCCC Club

$100 award to a currently enrolled Paralegal major, with a minimum 3.25 gpa, who demonstrates financial need, and is involved in school or community service.

HCCC Travel Club

$100 award annually to a Travel & Tourism major based on academic performance. Preference will be given to an active Travel Club member.

Hill Family Scholarship

An award to a second semester student continuing the second year at HCCC. Based on scholastics and college contributions.

Sharon Hughes Memorial Scholarship

$100 award to a female senior at a Herkimer County high school. Based on activity in the high school and/or community. Must be used for full-time attendance at HCCC. Contact high school guidance office or College Financial Aid Office for further information.

Hummel's Scholarship Fund

Four $250 annual awards to first semester seniors in the Business Division of the College. The recipient will have graduated from high school with less than an 85% average and shown significant improvement in college.

Ilion Elk's Club Scholarship

$100 to a Criminal Justice major who is a resident of Mohawk, Ilion or Frankfort.

Ilion Knights of Columbus

Annual award to a second semester freshman enrolled in the College's Criminal Justice curriculum. Student must be an Ilion or Mohawk resident and demonstrate academic performance and financial need.

Vincent J. Iocovozzi Scholarship

Awarded to a Science major transferring to Simmons or other mortuary science program.

Joan Johnston Memorial Scholarship

Annual award to an incoming freshmen student in the Radio-TV Broadcasting curriculum, based on academic performance.

Kaiser Family Scholarship

$500 award to an incoming freshman enrolled full-time in Business Administration with plans to get a bachelors degree in the business field.

Richard Karpen, Jr. Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a student enrolled in the science curriculum of the College. Transferring to a four year program. preference to Herkimer High School graduate.

Lisa Mulligan Lavoie Memorial Scholarship

An award given to an adult, female returning student majoring in Early Childhood Education.

F.J. Lawrence Memorial Scholarship

A $100 award to a Criminal Justice major.

Joseph D. Leone Scholarship

A $300 award to a graduating senior transferring to a baccalaureate program. Preference to a Herkimer County resident.

Harold C. Luther Scholarship

One $200 award to a student enrolled in the Social Science or Human Services curriculums. Based on academic performance and community service.

Bill & Joan McEvilly Memorial Endowment

Grants for the Radio/Television program, in support of scholarships or departmental needs.

Grace McLaughlin Scholarships

Two $500 awards to non-traditional freshman students. Part- or Full-time. Based on academic performance, community and/or college service, and financial need. Preference to single parents.

Donald J. Mitchell Family Scholarships

A minimum of award of $500 to students from Congressman Mitchell's (retired) geographical constituency. Based on high school demonstrated leadership potential and active involvement in community activities. Academic promise is a consideration.

NYS Federation of Home Bureaus Scholarships

Four awards to freshmen students. A scholarship in Honor of Kay Cookinham to a student in the Physical Therapy Assistant program, one in Memory of Windecker-Sharo-Bray to a Computer Science major, another on behalf of the Herkimer County Home Bureaus awarded to an Early Childhood:Nursery Education major, and one in honor of Ardythe Heiser to a Business Administration major. Awarded by a committee of local Home Bureaus members from candidates presented by the College's Scholarship Committee.

NYS Sheriffs’ Association Criminal Justice Scholarship

Awarded to a full-time, Criminal Justice major based on outstanding academic achievement and financial need.

Constantine Panarites and Mary Panarites-Gaspar Scholarship

$250 award to a full-time student pursuing a degree and teaching career in American History. Academic excellence.

Marianne Panko Memorial Scholarship

Two $100 awards given based on academic performance and campus activities. Preference given to students active in the campus Dance Workshop.

Partners Trust Bank Scholarship

Awards to Business students who have graduated from a Herkimer or Oneida county high school. Preference to students demonstrating financial need.

Polish Community Home, Inc. Scholarship

$500 award to a Herkimer Co. resident demonstrating financial need.

Presidential Scholarship

An annual award of $500 to an adult student in good academic standing (min. 2.0 gpa) who are in their final semester of study and on track for successful completion of graduation. Preference given to students with special need.

Professional Association Scholarship

One $1,400 award.

Progressive Club of Herkimer

$125 award made annually to a senior who is a graduate of Herkimer High School.

Margaret T. Quackenbush Memorial Scholarship

Given to a full-time student transferring to baccalaureate program.

Claudio & Bettina Scialdo Memorial Scholarship

$150 awarded to a student enrolled in any business program who has attained the highest grade point average of graduating seniors.

George Sennett Memorial Scholarship

$250 award to a Liberal Arts and Sciences: General Studies major with a preference to those studying Mathematics or Public Speaking. Academic performance.

Wesley P. Small Scholarships

$500 scholarships awarded annually to students.

Harry W. Snyder Scholarship

$150 to a Physical Education major. Preference given to students from Little Falls.

St. Joseph of Cupertino Scholarship

$250 merit based award to a graduating senior demonstrating ethical and moral values during their tenure at HCCC to be used towards continuing education.

Jean E. Stapleton Travel & Tourism Scholarship

$250 award to a full-time, second semester freshman student enrolled in the Travel & Tourism curriculum, with emphasis on academic excellence. Financial need considered.

Grace Sara Sugar Memorial Scholarship

$250 award to freshman or senior HCCC students enrolled in Science or “medical” majors. Must be a Herkimer County resident, preference given to Little Falls high school graduates. Financial need may be considered.

Wayne Tayler Memorial Scholarship

An annual award to a student in good academic standing.

Universalist Society Scholarships

$500 scholarships awarded annually to second semester freshmen students entering "helping professions". Preference given to a Herkimer High School graduate or a Herkimer County high school graduate. Based primarily on academic excellence and financial need.

Utica National Group Scholarship

$500 awards given to full-time HCCC students. Preference given to children of Utica National Ins., subsidiaries, & affiliates. Secondary selections from the Business, Computer Science, or Paralegal programs.

VFW - Michael S. Pliseck Post #4915 Scholarships

$250 awards to one returning freshman student and one graduating senior, transferring to four-year college, who are Herkimer County residents. Preference given to children of veterans.

Lynn "Pop" Walsh Scholarship

$100 award to an outstanding athlete.

William H. Welch Scholarship

Awarded to a graduating senior transferring to a four year college. Based on the student's creative ability and achievement in the field of art.
