Great job, Generals!
There are many things I appreciate about the Herkimer College campus. One is the location as it is just minutes away from plenty of restaurants. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite to eat or sit down with your family and friends, the village of Herkimer has a variety of stores. Maybe you want to have dinner and dessert, you can stop by Applebee’s, or if you’re up late you can grab a quick meal at the 24-hour McDonalds.
Lately the weather has been warming up with clear skies and rays of sunshine allowing the view of the village below to be crystal clear. It’s nice to just stop and look at the mountains beyond the village. If you look hard enough you can see a cluster of windmills in the distance. It’s honestly a beautiful sight to see. This is my second semester and I still cannot get over the beauty of the area.
This past Saturday, Herkimer College held an Open House for prospective new students. They showcased many clubs we have on campus, like photography, anime and gaming club to name just a few. They also held housing tours which were led by the Resident Assistants. It’s important for prospective students to tour housing, see where they may be living and to also get a feel for campus life.
Wednesday was a big day for our Herkimer Lacrosse team as they opened the season here at Wehrum Stadium against SUNY Broome. Wehrum Stadium has some amazing views! It’s actually a bit distracting when you’re trying to focus on the game. The Generals played tough and fought their best. Unfortunately, we did not win the game, but I still would like to give the team a shout-out for playing as well as they did!
