This was my first semester at Herkimer College and I absolutely loved it. I’ve had so much fun living on campus, meeting new people, and learning new things. It’s been an absolute delight. As the semester comes to an end, I’ve begun to reflect back on where I started and where I am now. During my first few weeks at Herkimer College I would’ve never have thought that I would end up where I am now.
On campus, we have so many clubs and organizations that students can join. With the wide variety, it could be hard for someone to pick a club. I chose to be part of the Student Government Association. I was elected Freshman Senator and I was, and still am, very happy. In SGA (Student Government Association) we are the voice of the student body. There will always be a question, concern, or idea that a student has that we can answer or take care of.
I’m happy to announce I got the job as a Resident Assistant in Campus Meadows. I’ve had the chance to get to know some of the RA’s this semester and I learned a bit about their responsibilities and duties. I’m very excited to work with such positive people and to help our fellow student body. I can feel it now, it’s going to be such an amazing experience!
There are plenty of jobs all over campus - from the library, cafeteria, to being a tour guide, there is always work. This semester I chose to be the Student Blogger. As a student blogger, I share my weekly first-year experiences with you to help others get a better understanding about what campus life is like and what’s new in my life. This semester has been filled with lots of memories, new friends, and exciting opportunities. I’m absolutely delighted to see what next semester has in store for me. This isn’t a “goodbye”, this is more of a “see you later” kind of thing. As we close out the semester, I will be on break along with the rest of the students here at Herkimer College. I will be back next semester to yet again, share my first experiences with you! So, don’t forget to check back in during the first week of classes in the spring semester!
Happy Holidays! See you in the New Year!
