Time flies...

Where has the time gone? Can you believe we’ve been in school a little over a month now? I guess it’s true when they say that “time flies when you’re having fun”. Speaking of fun, this weekend is going to be a blast! Residence Life is holding a “Natural High” weekend filled with a bunch of fun activities. Friday night we are going to Woods Valley Tubing Park in Westernville, NY to go snow tubing. It’s been a while since I’ve been snow tubing so I honestly can’t wait. On Saturday, we will be going to Destiny Mall in Syracuse, NY. We will all be getting a VIP pass to Wonderworks (which includes over 100 exhibits), a pass for the ropes course, and a pass for the laser tag arena. It will be so much fun! Sunday will be a quieter day with a simple brunch being served for those who participated in the “Natural High” weekend.

Considering that it’s still flu season, many people on campus are getting sick. It is important that people on campus take care of their bodies. Unfortunately, these past few days I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather. I’ve been congested and sneezing every now and then, hopefully it’s nothing but a simple cold. Luckily, our bookstore carries your everyday needs, including a variety of medications. I stopped in this morning to purchase a few items to treat my cold.

We are just about a month away from our Spring Break vacation and I’m not too sure what I want to do. I have so many options that it’s hard to choose from. I can go to New Orleans, Louisiana with some friends, Louisville, Kentucky to visit family, or stay in New York and visit friends in Lake Placid. It’s hard deciding where you want to go! I know that I should decide fairly soon due to prices on airline tickets. However, I’m a bit stressed out with the various options.

I would like to give a shout out to a fellow RA, Justin Harley, for his achievement. He is on the Herkimer Men’s Basketball team and was awarded the Herkimer Generals Green & Gold Athlete of the Month! Congratulations, Justin!

Check back next week as I share my first-year experiences with you – Christian Hurtado
