Herkimer Volleyball

The Program

The HCCC volleyball team is looking forward to improving its record this year. The team starts this season with high expectations from last year’s three returning players Julie Ann Faber, Alicia Maneen and Jessica Wicks. Julie Ann Faber is a strong, starting, outside hitter and skilled middle blocker from Dryden.  She serves as co-captain and is a dominate force on the court. Alicia Maneen, Frankfort, brings experience and speed to the team and will start as a setter. Jessica Wicks is a powerful outside hitter from Lowville who consistently puts the ball away. All three will lead the team toward their goal of a winning record.

Newcomers this season are Tiffany Conroy, Megan Folli, Kelcey Garland, Mackenzie Gordon, Krystle Hagenlocher, Kristen Harrison, Samantha Kowalczyk, Brittney Massie and Tiffani Spoor. Harrison (Dolgeville) and Conroy (Oneida) are great defensive players, both having established a starting position on the court, Harrison as a defensive specialist and Conroy as a libero. Kowalczyk comes from a strong high school program at Schalmont and has demonstrated great offensive abilities, earning a starting position as a middle hitter.  Hagenlocher (William Cullen Bryant) and Folli (Union Endicott) are solid all-around players. Both are highly skilled and have what it takes to bring Herkimer up to a competitive level. Folli is also co-captain. Spoor, also from Dolgeville, has consistently shown skill and will serve as one of our starting setters. Massie comes to us from Corcoran High School where she led her team in kills and blocks, breaking the school record.  Her ability to put up a solid block will aid in the team’s success.  Garland (Coxsackie Athens) and Gordon (AuSable Valley) both have what it takes to play at a competitive level with Garland as a right side hitter and Gordon as a defensive specialist.
