What's my User Name?

Your username will consist of the following items:

  • First 7 characters of your last name (or full last name if less than 7 characters)
  • First initial of your first name
  • Last 3 numbers of your student ID

For example: student John Smithson whose college ID is H99123101, will have a username of smithsoj101

Your student email account is the only email address HCCC will use to contact you regarding official College announcements, such as emergency closures, billing information, financial aid information and other highly important issues. Academic advisors and instructors will also use your email address to notify you of important information regarding your course(s) or upcoming registration. Please be aware that our college offices have been instructed to only respond to student's college email address in a measure to insure the identity of the intended recipient.


How do I access my Student Email Account?

Off Campus

Go to my.herkimer.edu. In the HCCC Username field enter in your new username and in the HCCC Password field enter in your password (see below). Select the Log On button.

On Campus

Log onto a computer with your username and password (see below) and access Microsoft Outlook or open a web browser and go to my.herkimer.edu.

Second option to access email: Webmail: there is a link from the Herkimer home page taking you directly to webmail. Entering your Windows username and password will allow you to use your Exchange webmail service.

Initial Password

Your initial password is your birthdate in an 8 digit format, for example 08171986 for August 17, 1986.

Where can I get assistance connecting my laptop to HCCC’s wireless network?

You may see someone within Johnson Hall 113 or call 315-866-0300 x8555 during the following hours:

Help Desk Hours:

Spring/Fall

  • Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 6:00pm
  • Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm

Summer

  • 8:00am - 4:00pm

The wireless network is not available within the dorms.


Where can I get assistance with connecting my computer to the internet in my dorm room?
