October 19, 2009 at 12:51pm - 3:00pm

Location: RMCC Upper Lobby

The YWCA Sexual Violence Services of the Mohawk Valley will display the Clothesline Project at Herkimer County Community College on Monday,October 19. The display will be in the Robert McLaughlin College Center lobby, in front of the Sarkus-Busch Theater from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Clothesline Project is comprised of t-shirts designed by survivors of abuse and those who have lost loved ones to it. It is a compelling visual display that bears witness to the many forms of violence perpetrated against women and children. The shirts are hung on a clothesline as a way to honor the survivors and ‘memorialize them; help with the healing process for survivors and their families; and to educate, document and raise society’s awareness about crimes of violence.

The display is free of charge and open to the public.
