Holocaust Survivor to Speak at Herkimer

Herkimer County Community College’s Women’s Club is sponsoring “An Afternoon with Helen Sperling: Holocaust Survivor, Historian, Teacher.” The program will be held Thursday, April 8 from 4 to 6 p.m. in room 288 of HCCC’s Robert McLaughlin College Center.
Sperling will recount her life growing up in a small Polish town that was raided by Nazis. She was relocated to a Polish ghetto and later imprisoned at Ravensbrück, then Buchenwald. Sperling will discuss human dignity and resiliency.
