Student Refund Checks for Spring 2010

Location: Outside of Financial Aid Office
The second half of spring 2010 federal financial aid is scheduled to be disbursed to student accounts this week. Federal financial aid includes Pell, SEOG, ACG and federal Direct Student Loans.
Any student who has a credit balance (surplus money on their student account after all billable charges are paid) will be eligible for a student refund check, provided the student is satisfying attendance requirements to earn financial aid, and has no other holds on the account.
Checks will be available for pick-up in the College Center outside of the Financial Aid Office April 5, 2010 between the hours of 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Students also can pick up checks in the Bursars Office from 3:15 PM - 4:30 PM on April 5 and between the hours of 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM on April 6. Students must present a valid student ID at the time of pick-up.
Any checks not picked up by April 6 at 2 PM will be mailed to the student’s permanent home address.
To verify if you are eligible for a student refund check, beginning today, you may log into student online services and review your account summary for the spring 2010 semester. You should also review your account for holds that may affect your eligibility for your refund and review your account for any open financial aid requirements. Student refund amounts will not be given over the phone.
All students with an attendance hold will be subject to an attendance verification with instructors and/or the Internet Academy. This will delay release of the refund check until it is determined the student has satisfied attendance requirements to earn their financial aid. If a student receives a refund check and it is later determined that the student did not meet attendance requirements to earn financial aid, the student will be responsible for repaying any funds received in error and any collection costs associated with recoupment of the funds.
