Youth Reinvented, A Photo Exhibit by Mark DiOrio
Herkimer College’s Cogar Gallery is featuring the exhibit, Youth Reinvented, by Mark DiOrio through Monday, April 3, 2017. A reception and gallery talk will be held on Friday, March 10 from 6-9 p.m. in the Cogar Gallery.
Mark DiOrio is an award winning multimedia photojournalist currently working as the University Photographer at Colgate University. Throughout his career, his approach to photography has been to help those in front of the lens tell their own story to contribute to a greater sense of social awareness and to help humanity connect with those he photographs.
He holds a Master of Science in Photography from Syracuse University and Bachelor of Fine Art from Purchase College, as well as an Associate in Fine Art from Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute.
Retirement is yet another “fork in the road” of our journey through life. When our long career paths end, we are faced with a choice of what comes next. “Many of the retirees I photographed take a road less traveled in the lifestyle choice they have taken,” DiOrio said. “Life for them did not grind to a halt in retirement. Instead, it became a time for self-realization.”
