Three Generals Named All-Tournament Team

The Herkimer Generals baseball team three players named to the 2015 All-Tournament Team. 

Michael Harrington (pitcher), a Liberal Arts & Sciences: Generals Studies major at Herkimer College, had his best pitching performance of the season in an elimination game against Niagara County Community College. The resident of Glens Falls, NY threw a complete game shutout for the Generals, helping his team advance with a 1-0 victory over the Thunderwolves. Harrington has not allowed an earned run in his last 24 and 1/3 innings pitched. Harrington was also named Region III Tournament Most Valuable Player.

Taishi Terashima (outfielder), a Liberal Arts & Sciences: General Studies major at Herkimer College, hit .450 (9-for-20) in five games with six runs scored, two walks and seven runs batted in. Terashima, from Hiranai, Japan, had the biggest hit for the Generals in the tournament, doubling to left field in the seventh inning in game one against Erie which tied the game at 8-8, helping Herkimer score seven runs in the inning which gave the team its first lead of the game (9-8), closing the door on the Kats in the final two innings for the win.

Matthew Lichtman (second baseman), a Liberal Arts & Sciences: Physical Education major at Herkimer College hit .571 (8-for-14) with five runs scored, five walks, two stolen bases and two runs batted in. Lichtman from Smithtown tallied six double plays in five games played during the tournament, holding opponents at bay with his ability to make plays defensively.
