Herkimer College Controller Jackie Woudenberg, of  Ilion, received the 2015 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service. The Chancellor's Awards for Excellence are system-level honors conferred to acknowledge and provide system-wide recognition for consistently superior professional achievement and to encourage the ongoing pursuit of excellence. These programs underscore SUNY's commitment to sustaining intellectual vibrancy, advancing the boundaries of knowledge, providing the highest quality of instruction, and serving the public good.

Woudenberg joined the Herkimer College staff in 1983. As controller, she is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all details of the finances of the college and for the oversight of the offices of the Bursar, Payroll, Purchasing and Finance. Woudenberg holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bentley College.

“Jackie demonstrates her commitment to the advancement of Herkimer College and to the advancement of SUNY in all she does. She exemplifies the level of professionalism and engagement in the life of the campus that the SUNY Chancellor’s Awards are meant to acknowledge,” said Interim President Nicholas F. Laino.

Sixty members of Herkimer’s faculty and staff have earned the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence over the years. Award recipients’ names are engraved on a plaque in the Robert McLaughlin College Center. A certificate and Chancellor’s Excellence medallion are bestowed upon each honoree to commemorate selection.
