Rathbun Named Men’s & Women’s Bowling Coach

Jason Rathbun has been appointed men's and women's bowling coach for the 2015-16 season. He will be responsible for scouting, recruiting, match and practice planning and player development.

Rathbun has been head coach for the Herkimer College baseball team for the past 11 years. During his tenure, he has led the program to five World Series appearances, eight conference titles, 16 coach of the year awards and 352 wins.

Rathbun bowled at Little Falls High School for longtime coach and teacher John Prestopnik and was a junior bowler at Gorge View Lanes. Rathbun also organized a team in South Carolina securing sponsorship for the team during his time at Erskine College.

Rathbun said, "I believe that with my experience in sports psychology and understanding of the sport, I will be able to bring a lot of information to help each player get better. I will work hard to recruit strong bowlers to help the program reach a new height of success."

In addition to his coaching duties, Rathbun is employed as an area coordinator in Herkimer College’s Residence Life and Housing department and is an adjunct psychology instructor. He holds an associate degree from Herkimer, bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from Erskine College and a master’s degree in Sports Psychology from Capella University.
