Ste-Marie Named Women’s Volleyball Coach

Dianna Ste-Marie has been appointed women’s volleyball coach for the 2015-2016 season. She will be responsible for scouting, recruiting, match and practice planning and player development.

Ste-Marie has been head coach for the women’s lacrosse team for the past nine years. In her first year as head coach, the women’s lacrosse team placed second in the regional tournament earning a spot in the national tournament. During her tenure, Herkimer lacrosse has produced 15 All-Region players and four NJCAA All-American players.

 “I am extremely excited about being involved with the volleyball team,” said Ste-Marie. “I have wanted to get back into coaching volleyball ever since I left the Town of Webb to come to Herkimer. I look forward to continuing the tradition of very strong competitive volleyball and taking the team to the national level! I am motivated by our excellent coaching staff at Herkimer and hope that I can rise to the challenge of making this volleyball team nationally ranked!”

In addition to her coaching duties, Ste-Marie is employed as an assistant professor of physical education. She holds an associate degree from SUNY at Morrisville, a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and master’s degree in Adaptive Physical Education from SUNY Cortland.

Ste-Marie is a member of the American Alliance of Physical Education, Health Recreation and Dance; NYS Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation & Dance; National Soccer Coaches Association of America and is certified in EMT-Basic, NYS Certification, Physical Education and First Aid/CPR & AED.
