New Student Orientation

Herkimer College will hold New Student Orientation on Thursday, August 27 and Friday August 28.

New residential students will move into campus housing on Thursday, August 27 between 9 am and 4 pm. Campus tours will be given by student ambassadors to help new students and families locate their classrooms and other campus locations from 2-4 pm. A program, “The Herkimer Experience: Q & A for parents/families” will be held in the Robert McLaughlin College Center, room 288 from 3-4 pm while a student Q & A meeting is held in the Robert McLaughlin College Center, room 247. A mandatory meeting for first year residential students will take place from 6-7 pm in the Sarkus-Busch Theater. A mandatory meeting for first year commuter students will be held in the Robert McLaughlin College Center, room 288 from 6-7 pm followed by a welcome mixer at 7 pm in the College Center, room 217.

Student check-in on Friday, August 28 will begin at 8:30 am in the Technology Center followed by Convocation at 9 am in the Varsity Gymnasium. Immediately following Convocation, students will meet with their academic advisors. There will be a Generals Block Party in the afternoon with inflatable twister obstacle course, cotton candy, sno cones, Dippin’ Dots and more. A Color Dance Party will take place at 7 pm in the field behind Campus Meadows.

College Offices will be open from 8 am to 4 pm and the Bookstore will be open from 8 am to 8 pm both days.
