Poland High School standout Mikayla Blumenstock signed a letter of intent at Herkimer College to play for the Herkimer Generals women’s soccer program in 2016. Blumenstock finished her career with the Tornadoes this past fall, accumulating 209 goals, the third highest total in New York State and first in Section III.

Blumenstock helped the Tornadoes to three straight Section III championships from 2012-2014, winning the state title in 2012. She is a four-time NYSSCOGS/NYSSWA All-State Class D first teamer and earned Player of the Year in Class D in 2014.

Blumenstock will look to help a Generals program which has won back-to-back Region III championships resulting in a third and fourth place finish at the NJCAA DIII National Championship Tournament.

“The Herkimer Generals women’s soccer program is extremely excited to have a player of Mikayla’s caliber to join our family,” said Acting Head Women’s Soccer Coach Jason Palkovic. “She has accomplished so much already at a young age, and we can’t wait for that success to carry on when she joins us.”
