Four members of the Herkimer County Community College Student Government Association (SGA) recently participated in the SUNY Assembly Conference in Saratoga Springs. The conference theme was ‘Progress Over Process,’ asking student leaders to not let the process of a difficult task slow one’s success, but instead focus on the greater good so true progress can be made. Several workshops were held during the three-day event, ranging from professional development to the inner workings of student government to accomplish the theme. The Student Assembly of the State University of New York, known as SUNY SA, is an organization comprised of student leaders elected by their peers from across SUNY’s 64 campuses. Empowering students throughout the state, SUNY SA is committed to student life and ensuring the representation of its members on the state and national level as well as throughout the SUNY system.
