Eighty One Students Inducted to Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society
Herkimer County Community College’s Upsilon Epsilon Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Society inducted 81 students at a ceremony on April 26 in the Robert McLaughlin College Center. Chapter President Jill Cadena David presided over the ceremony, along with College President Cathleen McColgin, Provost Michael Oriolo and Dean of Students Dr. Matthew Hawes.
The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa is to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. To achieve that purpose, Phi Theta Kappa provides opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship of scholars, and for the stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence.
