Herkimer College ranked second among best community colleges in New York State by EDsmart.org

Herkimer County Community College has been ranked as the second best community college in New York State for the 2016-2017 academic year by EDsmart.org.

Herkimer is one of 121 community colleges evaluated and ranked based on four publicly available data points: accreditation, affordability, academic quality and student satisfaction. Herkimer scored 91.75 out of a possible 100 points for its $7,487 net price, 36 percent graduation rate, 27 percent transfer rate and 61 percent retention rate.

Herkimer has received several top rankings recently. CNNMoney ranked Herkimer in the top 100 community colleges in the nation for student success. The Aspen Institute recognized Herkimer in the top 150 community colleges in the nation based on student learning, certificate or degree completion, employment and earning, and access and success for minority and low-income students. Most recently, Herkimer was ranked second best community college in New York State by the website schools.org.

EDsmart reviews publicly available data to produce independent ranking assessments of various educational programs, in addition to student guides and resources. Their mission is to be authoritative, objective and an editorially independent review journal.
