New Trustee Appointed to Herkimer College Board

Jeff Roche, of Middleville, NY, was appointed by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to the Herkimer County Community College Board of Trustees, effective June 3, 2014. His term expires June 30, 2020.

Roche served 21 years in the United States Army and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. From 2000 to 2006, Roche was senior practice manager for Sybase Corporation where he worked on a team responsible for the management and development of enterprise wireless secure software for the medical field. From 1998 to 2000, he was director of operations for the Defense Department program, where he was responsible for developing a global paperless medical and personal record for the military. Prior to that, from 1996 to 1998, he served as director of resources for the Military Train and Equip program in Bosnia i Herzegovina. From 1991 to 1996, Roche was sole proprietor for a historic restoration company and low-income home builder. He also has taught management and systems analysis courses as an adjunct professor at George Mason University.

Roche holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Norwich University, a Master of Business Administration from Syracuse University and a Doctor of Business Administration from California Coast University.

Roche currently serves as a peer to peer counselor for Amputee Empowerment Partners and is the Fairfield Chair of the Herkimer County Democratic Committee. He is a former district treasurer for the Lions Club and former deputy supervisor for the Town of Fairfield.
