Herkimer College to Host 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

Herkimer College is hosting a Remembrance Ceremony to mark the 13th anniversary of the events of September 11, 2001. The ceremony will be held Thursday, September 11 at 10 a.m. in the upper quad at the main entrance to the Technology Center. In case of rain, the ceremony will be held in the Sarkus-Busch Theater in the Robert McLaughlin College Center.

Dean of Academic Affairs Michael Oriolo will deliver the welcome, and Dr. Mark Polkosnik, Associate Professor of Paralegal Studies, will be the faculty speaker. Jeff Roche, a member of the Herkimer College Board of Trustees and a retired lieutenant colonel with 21 years of service in the US Army will be the community speaker. The ceremony will also include an inspirational reading by Robert Gassmann, Associate Professor of Radio/TV, and musical support from James Traglia, music teacher at Herkimer Elementary School.
