Executive Director of the Foundation
Herkimer County Community College (HCCC) seeks a dynamic, innovative, articulate, seasoned advancement professional to lead the College’s nascent advancement program to a bold new strategic position in support of the core mission of HCCC. Reporting to the President of the College, the successful candidate will serve as the chief architect for the design, implementation, management, and assessment of a comprehensive advancement initiative including corporate, and foundation relations; principal, major, planned and deferred individual gifts for all annual and capital priorities of the College; staff and oversee all functions of the College’s Foundation and its Board of Directors; staff and lead the Alumni Association and its Board of Directors; represent the College, the Foundation, and the alumni at major College and community programs, events, and activities that advance the mission of HCCC; supervise a small staff working to accomplish the established goals of the College, its Foundation, and the Alumni Association; and serve as special assistant to the President on all Institutional Advancement initiatives.
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of advancement experience, preferably in a higher education environment; will have a demonstrated track record in face-to-face solicitations with individual and entity prospects; exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; a proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively; excellent organizational, budgeting, planning, and assessment skills; and a strong commitment to the unique mission of the community college in our society. Bachelor’s degree is required, an advanced degree is preferred. Willingness to work evening, weekends, and ability to travel are required.
