Part-Time Technical Assistant - International Programs
Herkimer County Community College seeks qualified applicants for a Part-Time (19 hours/week) Technical Assistant in the Office of International Programs. Primary responsibilities will include assisting the Interim Director of International Programs with international student affairs, assisting international students in a variety of areas including, but not limited to orientation, student programs and activities, U.S. Immigration rules and regulations, student counseling, and retention initiatives.
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or Associates Degree with work experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree is required. Current knowledge and understanding of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to individuals holding non-immigrant visas. Two or more years in a professional office setting with strong skills in customer service, project planning and management, PC-based office software (including MS Word and a working knowledge of Web page editing), effective handling of confidential information and an ability to handle multiple tasks in a timely and professional manner. Banner Systems experience and ability to create reports as necessary. International experience and fluency in an Asian language preferred. Must be able to work with considerable independence and collaboratively with diverse individuals and groups.
