How do I apply for a Direct Parent PLUS Loan?
To apply for a Direct Parent PLUS Loan, you will need to complete a PLUS Loan Application. The student must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), prior to the PLUS Loan Application being processed. To request a parent loan:
- Go to http://www.studentloans.gov and and sign in using the parent’s FAFSA pin.
- Once you are logged in, select Request Parent Plus Loan, then select Parent Plus and complete steps 1-4.
- Your application will go through a credit check and if approved you will need to sign a Promissory Note on the same website.
