Is there any other paperwork that needs to be completed?
All students borrowing a Federal Direct Student Loan, are required to complete a Master Promissory Note and an Entrance Counseling Session online.
Master Promissory Note (MPN) - An online agreement signed by the student, promising to repay the entire loan amount that is borrowed, along with any interest that accrues during this time.
Entrance Counseling Session - An online tutorial explaining the borrower’s rights and responsibilities, interest rates and fees, and repayment options. This session includes a short exam that must be completed successfully by the student.
Both the Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling Session can be completed online at http://www.studentloans.gov. Students will be prompted to log in using their 4-digit PIN provided to them by the Department of Education.
