SOCIAL SCIENCES INDEX (1974 – present). An index that includes author and subject entries with citations to book reviews related to the social sciences.

INFOTRAC ONEFILE Presents general interest articles in magazines and newspapers.
OPPOSING VIEWPOINTS RESOURCE CENTER A database of current event topics, which includes facts and arguments of each topic’s proponents and detractors.
SIRS (SOCIAL ISSUES RESEARCH SERVICE) CD-ROM Provides full-text articles on human capital, labor and social issues (located behind the Reference Desk).

CQ RESEARCHER (1991 – present). Journal includes original, in-depth analysis of contemproary issues, with non-partisan reporting.
PUBLIC OPINION QUARTERLY (1960 – present). Journal includes articles on political tolerance, gender consciousness, concern for the environment, AIDS awareness, social identity, reporting of crime, and media effects.
SOCIAL FORCES (1956 – present). Journal of social research in the U.S. and internationally, includes sociological inquiry, social psychology, anthropology, political science, history, and economics.
SOCIAL WORK (1980 – 1999). Journal includes articles on social work and social welfare, insights into established practices, new techniques and research, current social problems, and critical analysis on problems in the profession.

Encyclopedia of Social Work. Ref.HV35 .S6. Reference work for the general knowledge base of the profession.

American Public Health and Human Services Association. Nonprofit, bipartisan organization of state and local human service agencies and individuals who work in or are interested in public human service programs.
Healthfinder. A federal website for consumers which has been developed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, a great resource for finding government and nonprofit health and human services information on the Internet.
United States Department of Health and Human Services. Website for the U.S. government's principal agency for protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services, especially for those who are least able to help themselves.
SAMHSA's National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information. A website for information about substance abuse prevention and addiction treatment. CS 2/06
