SS 164 - Understanding Addictions

This course is designed to provide students with a foundational understanding of addictions. Topics will include definitions and origins of addiction; substance addictions; experiential addictions (i.e. work, gambling, sex, cyber and internet addictions); the neurobiology of addiction (particularly drug/alcohol addiction); and various treatment modalities for addictions. Addictions pertaining to special populations will also be addressed.
