Academic Advisement for Online Students
One of the reasons Herkimer College Internet Academy students are so successful is our collection of support services. Each online student is assigned an academic advisor that understands their academic program to provide assistance and answer questions throughout their education. Students stay with that academic advisor until they complete their education or change their major.
We strongly recommend students contact their academic advisor on a regular basis, whenever you have a question, and to ensure all graduation requirements are met.
Students can check to see if they were already assigned an advisor by following these instructions. If you were not yet assigned an advisor, simply fill out the form below.
The Herkimer College Academic Advisement Center is there to help get you started and as a resource throughout your college education. We are devoted to helping students achieve success by providing guidance and services. The Academic Advisement Center is responsible for:
- assigning academic advisors to internet academy students
- assisting new students with placement score interpretation and initial course registration
- assisting all students with course selection, schedule adjustments, curriculum/ major changes, referrals, and counseling on the impact of each academic decision
The Advisement Center educates students about their role as a student advisee, the self-registration process, and how to be responsible consumers of their education through one-on-one appointments, publications, and workshops.
