As an art teacher for the Herkimer Central School District, Heather McCutcheon loves inspiring her students each day through their use of fine arts. She also coordinates the Arts in Education programs for the district. “The most important part of my job is caring about my students and pushing them to be the best they can be, not just in art but in life.”

McCutcheon credits the Fine Arts faculty at Herkimer College for playing a role in her success.  “It was nice to have small class sizes and independent discussions with my teachers. They helped prepare and put together my portfolio for when I transferred. They definitely went out of their way to help me set that up and make it a smooth transition.”

Whether it's hands-on teaching or the pivot to real-time remote instruction during the pandemic, Professor Maryann Wrinn continues to engage and inspire students. Wrinn obtained her B.A. from SUNY Potsdam and MFA in Printmaking from Ohio University.

Among her many professional achievements, Wrinn was awarded at the 81st annual Cooperstown Art Association National Juried Art Exhibition in 2016 for her mixed media collage.
