HCCC Baseball Team Ends Season at NJCAA Division III World Series

Herkimer County Community College’s baseball team ended the 2010 season with a Region 3 championship and a trip to Tyler, Texas to compete in the NJCAA Division III World Series May 22-27.
The Generals began national tournament play by defeating Waubonsee Community College (Sugar Grove, IL) 5-2 in 12 innings and Nassau Community College (Garden City, NY) 6-2. The team suffered their first loss of the tournament to Gloucester County College (Sewell, NJ), losing 9-1 in 7 innings, followed by a loss to Tyler Junior College (Tyler, TX), ending their World Series run. Seniors Jeff Sergott (Oriskany, NY/Oriskany) and Alex Ferenti (Deerfield, NY/Whitesboro) were named to the All-Tournament Team.
The team ended the season with an overall record of 35-14.
