Eight Hour Pre-Assignment Security Guard Training Course to be offered at HCCC

    Herkimer County Community College is offering a security guard training course.

    All security guards are required to complete an Eight Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course prior to applying to the Department of State for a Security Guard Registration Card. This is a general introductory course covering topics such as the role of a security guard, legal powers and limitations, emergency response, access control, communications and ethics. Upon successful completion of this course, the participant is issued a training certificate that must accompany the security guard registration application that is submitted to the Department of State. Classes will be held on Monday, November 16 and Wednesday, November 18 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required by November 12. The fee is $59.
