HCCC Men’s Basketball Home Opener November 10th

    The Herkimer County Community College men’s basketball team home opener is Tuesday, November 10 at 8 p.m. against Hudson Valley Community College. The game is dedicated to the fight against breast cancer. Beginning at 7:45 p.m. an American Cancer Society representative will acknowledge the efforts of the HCCC community in the fight against breast cancer. Team members, with pink ribbons pinned to their warm-ups, will throw miniature pink and white basketballs into the crowd before the game. Pink ribbon pins will be given to fans, and donation cards will be available for purchase. President Ann Marie Murray will toss the ceremonial tip-off ball.

    The Generals, ranked #3 nationally in the NJCAA preseason poll, opened their season with a 113-63 win over Schenectady County Community College on November 4. HCCC plays at Adirondack Community College Friday, November 6 at 6 p.m.

    The team returns four starters, including Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year Akeem Ellis, a 6’6” forward from Brooklyn. Another key returning starter for the Generals is Reggie German, a 6’4” guard from New Hartford. Matt Lee returns for his seventh year as head coach.

    The Generals ended last season 25-6 and were ranked #6 in the final poll.
