Personal Interest Courses

Herkimer County Community College is offering several personal interest classes.

Protecting Yourself Against Identity Theft explains how to protect your personal identity and lower your odds of becoming an identity theft victim. Learn what identity theft really is and how thieves obtain your personal information. This workshop provides tips to help you minimize your risk of ID theft both online and offline. Current scams used by ID thieves such as phishing, pharming, and vishing will be discussed. The workshop highlights key warning signs that indicate you may already be a victim of ID theft, and offers resources for getting help if your identity has been compromised. This workshop will be held Wednesday, September 17 from 6-8 p.m. The fee is $59.

Dress for Success from Head to Toe will focus on the importance of taking care of your skin, applying makeup & dressing for the job you want, not the job you have. Discussion will be on what to or not wear. You’ll be treated to a facial to learn about proper skin care & makeup application, tips & techniques. This workshop will be held Wednesday, September 17 from 6:30-9 p.m. The fee is $59.

Intermediate Line Dancing is for those who have some past line dancing experience. The class will set the pace. Bring a bottle of water if desired. The class meets Tuesday evenings from 6:15 -
7:45 p.m. beginning September 16. The fee is $44.
