Herkimer County Community College is hosting a new alcohol awareness show, “A Shot of Reality” from the creators of Mission IMPROVable and Bass/Schuler Entertainment that combines improvisational comedy, audience participation and education. The program will be presented Thursday, April 4 from 12:30-1:20 p.m. in the Sarkus-Busch Theater of the McLaughlin College Center. The show provides an honest, engaging, humorous and sober new look at alcohol awareness on campus. “A Shot of Reality” educates students about encountering alcohol in a college environment and in life.
Entertaining and informative, two performers present the show in the form of a birthday party for the students in the audience. Alternating between hilarious improvisations, in which the audience participates, and educational sketches which drive home facts and statistics, “A Shot of Reality” will make audiences laugh, think and inform their behavior toward alcohol. Open to the public free of charge, it is sponsored by the HCCC Counseling Center and Student Activities.
