Herkimer County Community College’s Community Education Office is accepting registrations for a U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Boating Safety course.

The Boating Safety course is designed to meet the legal New York State requirements for boating safety. This course requires a minimum of eight hours of instruction and participants will receive a safety certificate upon successful completion.

The course will cover topics including Introduction to Boating; Boating Law; Boat Safety Equipment; Safe Boating; Navigation; Boating Problems; Trailering, Storing and Protecting Your Boat; Hunting and Fishing, Water-skiing and River Boating.

The class will be held Saturday, November 15, 2008 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The fee is $20.
