Carvalho Named to NSCAA Men’s Soccer Scholar All-America Team News RSS Feed

Herkimer County Community College midfielder Raphael Carvalho has been named to the 2012 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Junior College Men’s Soccer Scholar All-America team. This is the first year the NSCAA has had a Junior College Scholar All-America Team.

Carvalho, a Liberal Arts & Sciences: General Studies major is a senior from Danbury, Connecticut. He helped lead the Generals to a 20-2-0 record, and back-to-back national championships. “Raphael represents what a true student-athlete should be,” said coach Pepe Aragon. ”He is not only a great player but is also a tremendous student as well. He takes a great deal of pride in his studies. What a great representation he is for our program,” Aragon added.

Carvalho will receive his award in Indianapolis, Indiana January 19, 2013 at the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-American Luncheon. He’ll accompany teammates Korab Syla, Charlie Anderson and Triston Henry, who were named to the All-America team.
