Herkimer County Community College will feature the work of two alumnae during Fall Fest & Alumni Weekend October 3,4,5 on the Herkimer campus. Debbie Ruane Sullivan Ingerick ‘79 and Carolynn McCann Dufft ‘81, close friends while at HCCC many years ago, will exhibit at the Cogar Gallery.
Debbie Ruane Sullivan Ingerick is a painter who has been teaching art in the public schools for 21 years, currently in Spencerport, NY. Ingerick transferred from HCCC to Nazareth College, Rochester, eventually receiving her master’s degree in art education. After raising her family, she decided to change her medium from oil painting to acrylic paints. Last year, Ingerick did her first one-woman show in years, which was well-received.
Carolynn McCann Dufft is a photographer in the Adirondacks, and grew up in Old Forge, NY. Following graduation from HCCC, Dufft continued at Munson-Williams-Proctor-Art-Institute in Utica. Her strengths, as an artist, are composition, the use of color and texture, as well as editing. She has been the Director/Librarian of the Raquette Lake Library in Raquette Lake for the last 12 years.
A reception will be held Saturday, October 5 from 2-4 with the artists present. The show will run through October 10, 8am -5 pm when the College is open.
The Central New York Watercolor Society Annual Exhibit will also be on display in the Cogar Gallery through November 4.
