Cogar Gallery to Feature Paintings by McDaniel and Walters

Herkimer County Community College’s Cogar Gallery will feature the paintings of two Richfield Springs artists, Ed McDaniel and Marjorie Walters, from August 24 -September 24, 2010. An Artist Reception will be held Friday, August 27 from 6-8 p.m.
Ed McDaniel-McDaniel’s abstract paintings incorporate thin layers of bright, transparent colors using acrylic and watercolor paints. Painting for over 40 years, McDaniel has been in many juried exhibits including the Cooperstown National and Regional Juried Exhibits, the Adirondack Regional in Old Forge, the Kirkland Art Center Juried Show and the SUNYIT Juried Show.
Marjorie Walters-For over 30 years, Walters has been painting and exhibiting her realist landscapes. She has worked with the Colonial Restoration in Williamsburg, VA and designed color schemes for the NYC Housing Authority. She also holds the titles of president of the Ridgewood Art Institute of New Jersey, executive director of the Cooperstown Artist Association, charter member of the National Museum of American Woman in the Arts, and exhibiting member of the Smithy Pioneer Gallery of Cooperstown, NY.
The Cogar Gallery is located in the Hummel Corporate and Professional Education Center, at the main entrance to the McLaughlin College Center. It is open to the public free of charge Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. when the College is open.
