Computer Courses Offered at Herkimer

Herkimer County Community College is offering a series of upcoming non-credit computer training courses.
Introduction to Microsoft Word 2007 will teach participants basic word processing skills using this popular program. The class will meet in four sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-8 p.m. beginning September 14. Pre-registration is required by September 9. The fee is $59. Textbook is required and is not included in the course fee.
Basic Computer Fundamentals is a series designed for those who have little or no prior knowledge of computer equipment or software. In Level l, participants will be exposed to the Windows operating system, computer terminology and basic word processing. Level II is intended for those who are comfortable with the basic operation of a computer. Participants will learn to create, edit, save and retrieve documents. Participants will also explore ways to protect computer equipment from outside invasions. Level III is designed for those who are comfortable using a computer with Microsoft Windows. Participants will learn skills such as accessing disk drives, downloading information from the Internet and creating files and folders.
The classes will meet Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., September 18, October 2 and October 16, respectively. The fee is $42 per class or $120 for all three levels.
