Herkimer County Community College will offer “HCCC Investigators,” a crime scene investigation mini-camp for youth Monday, July 22 through Thursday, July 25.
The program will give an in-depth look at crime scene investigation through the use of actual CSI equipment, multimedia presentations and hands-on activities. Participants will learn common investigation skills such as fingerprinting, casting impressions of footwear/tire tracks, GPS systems, metal detection systems and more. Time and weather permitting, participants will investigate a mock crime scene and conduct an excavation to recover simulated skeletal remains and evidence.
The mini-camp is geared toward children ages 13-16, and will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. The course fee is $89.
Space is limited and pre-registration is required by July 17.
