Free Computer Training Programs

Herkimer County Community College is offering specialized computer training programs to individuals looking to augment their technology skills in a challenging and competitive job market. Offered in partnership with Herkimer Working Solutions One-Stop Career Center and regional education partners, the programs are provided at no cost to qualified individuals as a result of grant funding from the United States Department of Labor.
Introduction to Computers will introduce participants to the basics of computer technology in a hands-on learning environment. Topics to be covered include basic computer applications, MS Word, MS Excel and MS Access. The 28-hour training course will run from October 17 to November 9 on Mondays from 3:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Fast Lane to Cybersecurity will introduce participants to the basics of the cyber field. Topics to be covered include math, operating systems, network fundamentals, network security, and computer science. The 32-hour training course is to be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, October 18 to November 2, from 5- 9 p.m. Intermediate computer skills are required.
