Free Cybersecurity Training Program Offered at HCCC

Herkimer County Community College is offering a 32-hour cybersecurity training program for individuals looking to augment their technology skills in a challenging and competitive job market. Offered in partnership with Herkimer Working Solutions One-Stop Career Center and MVCC’s CyberJobs program, the training is provided at no cost to qualified individuals as a result of grant funding from the United States Department of Labor.
Fast Lane to Cybersecurity will introduce participants to the basics of the cyber field. Topics to be covered include Math, Operating Systems, Network Fundamentals, Network Security and Computer Science. Session A is scheduled January 17, 18, 19 and 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required by January 11. Session B is scheduled from January 31 to February 15 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 5-9 p.m. Pre-registration is required by January 24. Intermediate computer skills are required. Seating is limited.
